The artist’s inspsiration for the design of this mirror comes from the Christian Museum annexed to the Civiidale Cathedral (Duomo) in the Friuli Region of Italy. The museum, established in 1946, houses two Lombard masterpieces probably from the 7th century : the « Ratchis altar » and the « Callistus baptistry ». The latter consists of an octagonal bowl with eight columns supporting the eight arcades of the canopy. The 7th arcade displays two peacocks drinking from a spring.
